A Plan for Liberty

In my last post I admitted that libertarians don't have any solid plans but then other libertarians ask how would liberty ever be achieved?

Here is my sexy program for the most painless transition to anarchutopia - or whatever you'd call it.
If I was in charge of the state how would I get rid of the state?  I am probably going to write on each of these points sooner or later and as I do I am going to come back and change each into a hyperlink so if you want to follow my plan you can bookmark this page.

Start by cut the most conspicuous contested programs.
+ Cut all corporate welfare and handouts to big businesses, to stop them fleeing abolish corporation tax. Revenue will be regained from increased job growth and income.
+ Foreign Aid is the least popular government program. Cut it off completely, and unilaterally extend free trade to all nations willing to participate, import their products even if they don't accept ours. Justify the policy by claiming (rightly) we can do more good by trade than aid. End all barriers, tariffs and subsidies on foreign goods offer free trade to all nations.
+ Legalise cannabis immediately and enact a phased end to the drug war. Release all minor drug offenders from prisons and reduce cost of prison itself.
+ Halt employment of/replacements in the civil service, offer voluntary redundancy to all Public Sector workers with 1 to 2 years pay.
+ End foreign interventions reallocate funds to replace anything necessary for a robust defence. Put a freeze on increases in military spending.
+ End TV licensing and privatise BBC.
+ Withdraw from NATO, a Cold War relic.
+ Institute a permanent minimum wage freeze and remove all regulations pertaining to conditions of employment. Create minimum wage exemptions for staff undergoing training at work. From the beginning of the act anyone employed can be employed and dismissed under any conditions to which they voluntarily contract.
+ Repeal laws insisting anyone producing their own energy must sell it to the grid, and remove any laws prohibiting people from harvesting rain water for domestic use &c.
+ Legalise prostitution

Second Wave
+ Begin earmarking all taxes for purpose. Allow people to opt out of paying education tax if their children are in private schools, healthcare tax no NHS, fire brigade tax.
+ End all restrictions on employment.
+ Privitise contract law, state retains criminal law for the time being.
+ Replace welfare state with a series of performance based grants to charities and third sector organisations working to reduce poverty and dependency. (Back - to - work schemes, etc.)
+ Sell off government assets to highest bidder.
+ Phase out all agricultural subsidies over ten years, offer part of the subsidy money to farmers from retraining.
+ De-couple university system from government. Phase out all government monies for tertiary education as private universities spring up to provide low cost education.
+ Start to decouple the monetary system from government. Abolish all and any laws restricting the use of alternative currencies. Allow anyone who wishes to to open a bank or credit union without government permission. Let people decide themselves which institutions they want to frequent.
+ Fully de-regulate private health care - allow third party bodies to examine doctors and offer certification.
+ Fully deregulate private education as above.
+ Make it legal to sell blood, organs and unborn children.

+ Reinstitute the right to bear arms
+ End all police searches and warrantless searches.
+ Reintroduce habeas corpus.
+ Begin the phased abolition of nuclear weapons.
